A + A | The Kentucky Way

Hey All Ya’All!

These two Love Birds met in Paris (please read, Par-eeee) and Austin took Abby back to Paris to the exact spot to propose. Abby was tickled-pink and called me just like she promised five years prior when we met.  She was a guest at a wedding we had planned for 500 on a dime. It was another ‘true-to-the-bride-and-groom’ BEST DAY EVER! in Kentucky with Magnolias and Hot Toddy’s, Mason-Dixon Mac’n Cheese and a ‘Butter My Biscuits’ Bar. We served Charleston’s Coconut Cake  and set up a Wild Cats Lounge so’s we could watch the Wild Cats! Oh! with all the good football watchin’ fixins’! I finally got the gorgeous photos by Lang Thomas Photography narrowed down for a proper post. OK,  there are 50 photos not 20 or less like I’m supposed to choose. I admit it, I am hopeless. But, I love every detail and seeing it unfold again with photos makes me so happy. And then, I don’t want to be selfish and leave any of All Ya’All out of joining in the happiness of their Best Day and Beautiful Love…
I left a little of my heart in Owensboro, Kentucky where the charming celebration took place. Located on the Ohio River, it is modern yet quaint. And along with being the home of our Bride, it is home to The Miller House which is home to SPIRITS, recognized as the Best BOURBON Bar, stocking 400+ Bourbons in their walls of shelves.  We hosted the Rehearsal Dinner Upstairs and then headed down to SPIRITS for the After-The-Rehearsal-Gathering and some Bourbon (to say that the swaller can be felt all the way down is an understatement!). It is also home to The World Famous Bar-B-Q of The Moonlite Inn, which catered this ‘true-to-the-bride’ affair, and is known for getting shut down for President Bill Clinton to enjoy when he is passing through with his Secret Service, AND – wait for it…OWENSBORO IS THE CHILDHOOD HOME of JOHNNY DEPP! YEP!

The planning process was a JOY with Abby and her Queen Mother, Lisa and it overflowed into another BEST DAY EVER. It was as lovely as the photos convey, which of course, is a direct result of the love these two wonderful humans have for each other and pretty much All Ya’all!

Thank Yous and ‘Bless Yer Hearts!’ are in order:
To Lisa’s friend Patsy opening her heart and home for the delicious lunch and photos. To Sally and her team at Welborn’s, who were incredible to work with. They executed the design and vision to perfection and with a smile. From the gorgeous florals, magnolia runners and chandelier wreaths to the linens, draping, metallic gold chiavari chairs and the gold candlesticks, to every last place setting. To the lovely Sarah Axelson for her custom work for programs, table numbers and directional signage. To Moonlite Bar-B-Que for the ‘Good Eats’. To the hospitable staff at The River Park Center. To Nashville’s Downtown Band, who kept the dance floor full. To the Settle Memorial United Methodist Church who allowed a custom ‘true to the Bride and Groom’ ceremony. To the Miller House and SPIRITS Bourbon Bar for a wonderful rehearsal dinner and after party AND – if you loved Abby’s dress (it was more divine than the photos show), check out House of White in Newburgh, Indiana. Andrea was a 5Star experience!

X’s & O’s to these beautiful people for letting me be a part. They will always be in my heart: Abby Nyquist Austin Nyquist Lisa Garmon Newcom Cindy Nyquist
