Roses – A Kentucky Derby Style Event designed and produced by Backyard Soiree Weddings and Events at The Prairie Street Brewhouse to benefit Healing Pathways Cancer Resource Center.
Upon arrival guests walked the Red Carpet to have their photo taken with The Movie Star In Our Midst, Greta, “It’s Miss Garbo!”
Then it was to the Ice Cellar to get their Signature Drink, Peach Tea with a Kick! or a Mint Julep to enjoy some sipping while shopping the Silent Auction and previewing the Live Auction items.
After sipping and shopping it was time to place bets (donations) on their picks for Kentucky Derby Horse Races that were running throughout the event. Prizes were awarded to those who picked Winners!
And then it was off to the Dessert War Auction Table to view the fine offerings of the Cake Goddesses and determine which dessert they would bid on in order for their table to have dessert. (Unaware that Kate would be making a special appearance during the Dessert War Auction, with two of her fresh Pecan Bourbon Buzzsaw Pies!)
Guests partook of a Gourmet Southern Style Picnic after opening the complimentary Bottle of Bubbly on every table to Toast the Survivors and remember the Fighters we miss.
Last, but certainly not least, the Derby Bonnet Contest – where the audience voted by applause for the winning bonnet.
Backyard Soiree Weddings and Events is honored to have produced The Inaugural Run For The Roses event which was a great success – raising awareness and funds for those touched by cancer and their caregivers.
