Rachel & Mike are Rockfordians living in Colorado. When they first called, they were looking for some guidance and consultation throughout their journey to ‘I do’ and then some Day-Of Service.  We set up a meeting shortly thereafter for when they would be home and able to see some venues and meet with vendors.  We met at the start of their day.  After a bit of conversation and getting to know them and their vision, I eliminated a couple venues from the list and prioritized their day with what I felt were venues worth their one day of venue shopping.  Rachel had her heart set on Khlem Arboretum for the ceremony, which meant a ‘Plan B’ Venue was necessary, should it rain.  In addition, I gave them thoughts on things to consider regarding the distance between the ceremony and reception venue and to pick a reception venue that could be their ‘Plan B’ Ceremony Venue due to weather. I also gave them things to notice regarding photo ops when considering their reception venue and back-up ceremony venue—then sent them on their way.  Rachel & Mike decided on the venues at the top of the list, Khlem Aboretum and Memorial Hall, setting the stage for their big day.  As the day drew nearer, Rachel and Mom asked for some help with centerpieces and finishing touches–I was happy to help and thankful for just the right time, to make just the right stops, and find just the right things to stay in-line with their budget and then for Broadway Florist to be so obliging. The ceremony of all Beatles Music was the absolute perfect choice for the picture-perfect, sunny, intimate, family-only setting of Khlem Arboretum’s Bridge and Pond.  The 1930’s Send-Off Car was an unexpected highlight – which escorted them about Rockford for some fun and photos and then delivered them to Memorial Hall where 100+ guests awaited to celebrate.  Thank you, Rachel & Mike for letting Backyard Soiree be part of this perfect day. I truly enjoyed getting to know you and your families and the homemade Jalapeno Wine was a highlight!
